George Logan, best known for playing the character Dr Evadne Hinge in drag as part of the Hinge and Bracket comedy and musical act, has died at the age of 78.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the entertainment act – which also consisted of Patrick Fyffe as Dame Hilda Bracket – became well-known from their performances on BBC Radio 2 and on BBC TV programmes.
They also performed for members of the royal family on several occasions, including at two Royal Variety shows.
Logan’s death was confirmed by his family on Sunday May 21.
